Week In Review

Last Saturday I got up early and went shopping. I got a couple new tools and some other junk. Bought a socket driver set for a poor schlub I work with who didn't have the cash for one and needed it bad. He owes me lunch. After that I lazed around the house and then went over to Rufus's house and destroyed our friends at magic.

Sunday was the ARRG rollergirls newbie bout. It was a match for all the girls that weren't yet on a team. As usual ZS did the security and it was a blast. Gunny, a ZS Forum moderator from Texas was in town visiting schools to finish his grad degree, so it was nice to see someone new. After the bout we (ZS and ARRG) crashed some tiny local bar off of Broadway called "Kickers." I was one of the first ones there and it was hilarious to see 3 or 4 south side hoosiers get their Sunday football bar overran with freaks. It's odd, but even though we have so much in common at the after-parties ZS seems to clique together. I've no problem talking to the ARRG girls, but I'm not really a conversation starter. Mebbe they are afraid of the zombie hunters. I would be.
After a couple beers I split to go meet up with Fred the Hippie and Kilgor. We went to dinner, and dropped 120$ between the three of us at an Italian place on the Hill, called Gian-Tony's. The Hill is Saint Louis's answer to little Italy. All the best food (mostly, anyway) is on the Hill. There are no bad restaurants on the Hill.

Monday came with rain, and yummy leftover pasta for lunch at work. I don't remember what happened the rest of the day.

Tuesday My uncle Joe died. I'm still not sure how I feel about this. It did kinda of spin me into a faux depression, however. That caused me to make two eight foot by eight foot signs sideways. Found that out on Friday when the guys went to install them. I know, a death in the family can be distracting, and noone was REALLY mad at me, but I'm supposed to be better than that.

Wednesday I met Metal J and Kene for golf, it was rainy and muddy, and I really didn't feel up to playing or even drinking. I bought a pint of rum, but Kene drank most of it. I tried a few swigs, but couldn't even swallow them. After that I went home and relaxed, and thought about what my uncle meant to me.

Thursday was much like Monday, where nothing much happened. I went to bed early.

Friday, at last! Payday. Took my check to the grocery store and bought some supplies. Food, Water, and snacks. I even got the email address from the cute checker girl, but she hasn't responded yet. Rufus got free tickets to the Blues game tonight, and I wanted to take her, but oh well, I guess. Wasn't the right timing. Today I masked and painted some things, and I'm getting sick. It's me yearly sinus draining and It's sure as hell taking it's time. Just like Fall, I guess. GO BLUES!!!

Liar!

I was talking to a co-worker yesterday, and I mentioned doing "charity work." She asked what group I did charity work with, and I said, "Zombie Squad." She told me that it sounded like I made it up. Most people think I'm just crazy. Most people are correct!

Full Circle

Today was my first day of silkscreening. It sucked. Then, I went to install a sign without the proper tools. that sucked too. I might as well be working at the old place. With one small exception, that is. I work at a place I like for a boss I can actually tolerate (he stays within the boundaries of a professional relationship: No mooning, he never demands to kick me in the balls, and so far he has never stolen my lunch. Usually he goes out to lunch, and no real person over the age of 22 would touch the cheap crap I eat for lunch. Cup noodle, anyone?)
I still have bad days. We all do. Anyone remember the last image that was here? Sure you do. I created that image and chose the music based on my feelings at the time. I didn't get all wasted. I didn't drink a bottle of rum. It was a bad day, and I knew that as bad of a time as I was having, the next day would be better. I didn't have to make anyone else feel like shit or take it out on my family. And I'm not saying I'm all more mature and have this awesome perspective about things, because I always have. It's because my fellow co-workers deal with the same crap, and my boss, no matter how forgetful or erratic, is sane. So I have that going for me...

Here's what you have missed, in the past month or two:
I went on an all expense paid trip to Disneyland. It sucked. I don't care who the hell Captain Jack Sparrow is, Disneyland is not a proper place for a pirate. I was sleep deprived, malnourished, and constantly harassed by my nieces and nephews. At one point I simply got off of the boat at a random spot and wandered around for a few hours. I'm grateful to my sister and brother-in-law for all that they did, and I hope the kids had a good enough time. I was way out of my element there.

Rollergirls is almost over. There is a newbie bout on Sunday, and only 2 more real bouts. I'm gonna miss those crazy chicks. For about 6 mos. anyway.

R. and C. were in town a little time ago, and they are back in Florida. You guys need to email me a copy of that photo of you guys in the ZS shirts!

Halo 3 came out, and I beat it. I give it one pegged appendage out of 4.
